SecureSphere Web Application Firewall Provides Security and Compliance for Hosted Transactional Web Applications

Redwood Shores, Calif., April 13, 2009 – Imperva®, the data security leader, today announced that Millennium Communications, a leading developer and hosting provider of integrated web marketing solutions, has deployed Imperva SecureSphere Web Application Firewalls (WAF). With this deployment, Millennium increases the privacy of customer data to meet the payment card industry (PCI) data security standard (DSS) compliance requirements.

By deploying SecureSphere appliances, Millennium is able to process credit card payments securely and help identify related web vulnerabilities to satisfy the requirements of the PCI DSS. SecureSphere continuously monitors web traffic at all three of Millennium’s hosting centers, and its corporate and development/staging environments. These are home to transactional web applications for Fortune 100 companies, as well as for a range of small, medium and large companies.

“SecureSphere enables us to inspect every cookie, every parameter, every URL, and every form field to protect our customers’ applications and data against layer 7 vulnerabilities,” said David Denara, CIO of Millennium. “Just as important, SecureSphere helps us comply with the strict PCI DSS standards required to facilitate transactions and store credit card information.”

“Millennium faces a unique and very challenging problem — it must host and meet PCI DSS compliance requirements for a multitude of complex applications that it has custom developed for its customers,” said Mark Kraynak, vice president of marketing for Imperva. “SecureSphere provides protection against code level vulnerabilities and enables Millennium to satisfy PCI DSS requirements while providing an additional layer of audit capability whenever an application changes.”
