Device Identification and Malware Protection Enhances Fraud Prevention Service to Help Secure High-Risk Transactions
Redwood Shores, Calif., June 11, 2012 – Imperva, Inc. (NYSE: IMPV), a pioneer and leader of a new category of data security solutions for high-value business data in the data center, today announced it had added ThreatMetrix device identification and fraud malware detection to ThreatRadar Fraud Prevention. The Imperva SecureSphere Web Application Firewall (WAF) interoperates with ThreatMetrix TrustDefender to help secure high-risk transactions, new account origination and online authentication against fraud.
Fraudulent credit card payments, and account creation and online authentication with stolen credentials, can cost businesses millions of dollars. By interoperating with ThreatMetrix TrustDefender to validate identity and device information and to detect high-risk transactions, ThreatRadar Fraud Prevention enables organizations to detect fraudulent users and helps prevent fake accounts and logins, mitigating fraud-related expenses.
Cybercriminals use a variety of underhanded schemes to defraud Web users and corporations. Each type of fraud requires specific defenses, possibly forcing organizations to manage multiple fraud security solutions. Imperva SecureSphere adds a feature for Web application security by unifying multiple anti-fraud solutions together, providing a single framework to configure, monitor and enforce fraud protection.
“Fraudulent behavior online can send ripples through organizations, as potential chargeback and collection costs directly impact the bottom line and disgruntled customers could damage the brand image,” said Amichai Shulman, CTO, Imperva. “By partnering with ThreatMetrix, Imperva is extending its powerful Fraud Prevention Service, which enables organizations to centrally manage fraud security policies without altering their Web applications.”
ThreatRader Fraud Prevention Services enable organizations to mitigate fraud chargeback and remediation costs, streamline fraud investigation, and improve reputation and customer loyalty by identifying Web fraud activity. Key benefits include:
-
Fast and simple deployment: Imperva lowers costly and protracted application integration with fraud solutions by transparently injecting fraud security code into transactions.
-
Centralized fraud prevention: SecureSphere’s integration with ThreatMetrix TrustDefender enables organizations to centrally manage and correlate fraud detection from multiple fraud security vendors and combine fraud detection with WAF security policies.
-
Up-to-date fraud protection: Imperva rapidly incorporates the latest updates and APIs from fraud prevention partners into the cloud-based Fraud Prevention Service, so organizations can take advantage of the newest features as soon as they are available.
