Application Data Security Leader Adds Seasoned Technology Industry Executive to Management Team
Redwood Shores, Calif., Feb. 4, 2009 – Imperva®, the leader in application data security, today announced the appointment of Henk Jan Spanjaard as vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Spanjaard brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and management for information technology vendors to Imperva. He joins Imperva from Mu Dynamics where he served as vice president and general manager for EMEA. Spanjaard will direct Imperva’s aggressive growth initiatives in key European markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and The Netherlands.
“Henk Jan Spanjaard has successfully managed sales and business operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for several growing security and networking technology vendors,” said Shlomo Kramer, president and CEO of Imperva. “Henk Jan has the management skills, technical expertise, and region-specific experience to continue to grow Imperva’s share of key EMEA markets and aggressively expand into new ones.”
Spanjaard joins Imperva from service assurance appliance vendor Mu Dynamics, where he was vice president and general manager for EMEA. He established a presence for the company in the region and built a sales team and business operations from ground zero. Prior to Mu, Spanjaard was at Network Appliance (NetApp) for over nine years in a variety of roles. As regional manager for Italy, Spain, and Portugal he increased revenues threefold in a weak economic environment. Previously, Spanjaard served as managing director for EMEA at security appliance vendor Decru, a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Appliance (NetApp), where he rebuilt the sales organization, streamlined operations, and more than doubled revenue year over year. Spanjaard has held sales and engineering positions with IT services firms Logica CMG and Telindus B.V.
