SecureSphere Takes Top Honors in Comparative Review of Web Application Firewalls

FOSTER CITY, Calif., April 27, 2006 – Imperva™, the leader in data security for the data center, today announced that its SecureSphere™ Web Application Firewall (WAF) has won the Network Computing Editor’s Choice Award.  In comprehensive tests conducted at Network Computing’s Real-World Labs®, SecureSphere outperformed competing products including offerings from F5 Networks and Netcontinuum. According to Network Computing, Imperva handily outgunned its rivals thanks in part to an intuitive interface and comprehensive policy development. The complete review is available in the April 27 issue of Network Computing and online.

“From beginning to end, Imperva SecureSphere is our kind of WAF. We were impressed that installation took as little as five minutes,” said Network Computing editors Jeffrey Rubin and Ravind Budhiraja. “SecureSphere’s learning mode is also outstanding. Without any configuration, the device started learning all the URLs that are accessed in our Web environment. Although all the other products required us to set up the virtual servers or Web sites we wanted them to protect or learn, SecureSphere helped identify all traffic coming into the box, which made it easier to identify Web profiles.”

All Network Computing product reviews are conducted by current or former IT professionals in Network Computing’s Real-World Labs, according to the publication’s own test criteria. Vendor involvement is limited to assistance in configuration and troubleshooting. Network Computing schedules reviews based solely on editors’ editorial judgment of reader needs, and tests are conducted and results published without vendor influence.

“Network Computing is the most respected testing publication in the industry, and renowned for evaluating products against real-world requirements,” said Shlomo Kramer, founder and CEO of Imperva. “Winning the Editor’s Choice Award is a powerful endorsement for SecureSphere and its ability to secure and integrate easily into production web application environments.”
