SecureSphere Outperforms Guardium, Crossroads, RippleTech, and Pyn Logic in Comprehensive, Six Month Evaluation
FOSTER CITY, Calif., Sep 25, 2007 – Imperva®, the leader in application data security and compliance, today announced that its SecureSphere Database Security Gateway received the Editor’s Choice Award for database extrusion prevention systems from InformationWeek magazine, one of the industry’s most respected independent testing organizations. SecureSphere was the only product to receive an “ideal” grade for visibility and understanding of database activity, detection, notification and blocking of attacks, and overall features. The full results of this in-depth six month evaluation appear in the Sept. 24 issue of InformationWeek Magazine and online at: www.informationweek.com/news/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=201807934&pgno=1&queryText=.
According to InformationWeek’s editors, “Right from the start, the Imperva SecureSphere Database Security Gateway impressed us with its plethora of features. Imperva’s dynamic user profiling is almost reason enough to choose it. Other features, including stateful firewall, IPS, and database vulnerability assessment, are icing on the cake.”
Imperva becomes one of the few vendors to ever win Editor’s Choice Awards from InformationWeek for two separate products, the SecureSphere Database Security Gateway and SecureSphere Web Application Firewall (www.networkcomputing.com/showArticle.jhtml?queryText=securesphere&articleID=185303650&pgno=4).
“This Editor’s Choice Award from InformationWeek confirms what customers are discovering in their own evaluations – that SecureSphere provides the most comprehensive protection and automates the manual administration imposed by competing products,” said Shlomo Kramer, president and CEO of Imperva. “We are honored to be recognized by one of the industry’s most prestigious and independent testing labs.”
New SecureSphere Version Even Better
InformationWeek’s editors tested version 5.0 of SecureSphere at its University of Florida lab. The tests examined ease of installation and configuration; breadth of database support; visibility into database activity; detection and notification and/or blocking of attacks; product features; and price. Since then, Imperva has released version 6.0 of SecureSphere which includes advanced new capabilities that include:
- Imperva ADC Insight Services, a continuously updated library of configuration packages that tailor SecureSphere for the security, audit, and compliance needs of specific business applications and regulations such as SAP ERP and Oracle E-Business Suite, and help meet requirements for Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
- Server and Sensitive Data Discovery, which automatically discovers application and database servers, as well as sensitive information, including credit card data and Social Security Numbers.
- Improved reporting framework with point-and-click facilities for customizing pre-defined reports and generating new reports unique to an organization. User’s can also schedule recurring report generation and distribution to multiple groups in a variety of formats.
- Role and Workflow-Based Management, which aligns access and assignment of management activities based on how organizations are structured and govern their IT operations.
