Forrester Research, Inc. has just released The 2015 Forrester Wave for DDoS Service Providers, naming Imperva as a leader among evaluated DDoS service providers. We are delighted to share this news with you.
In addition to being in the Leaders segment, Imperva was also top ranked in the “current offering” category in the DDoS Service Provider Wave, and was cited for its:
- Strong global presence and very large customer base
- Being adept in serving both SMB and enterprise clients.
- Positive feedback from customer references
- Strong customer service capabilities
- Responding well to customer feedback
- Highest score possible for SSL traffic inspection, defended network protocol, and IP location maps (PoPS)
Regarding the DDoS protection choices for customers, Forrester notes, “There is no need to consider implementing your own DDoS solution on premises when there are a significant number of effective outsourcing partners that can offer better DDoS protection compared with what security and risk pros can do for themselves.”

The report is based on performance in three major categories, each with its own set of criteria:
- Current offering
The strength of each vendor’s current DDoS product offering is based on comprehensive evaluation of categories, including attack types defended, customer portal features, response tactics and customer references. Imperva Incapsula’s current offering score was the highest of all vendors in the Wave, which we believe reinforces our position as the leading DDoS mitigation solution provider. - Strategy
A vendor’s position on the horizontal axis of the Wave graphic in the report indicates the strength of its DDoS strategy, specifically on the customer communication process, hybrid implementation availability, system integration partners, technical development, professional services, and sales staff. - Market Presence
Each company’s market presence was measured based on its client base, revenue, revenue growth, and the number of years the company has offered DDoS services. Imperva was ranked one of the two top vendors in the market presence area.
Inclusion criteria used for vendor selection for this evaluation were the breadth of a company’s offerings, its global presence, and market relevance including
- A complete suite of DDoS security services.
- A strong DDoS presence in North America and globally.
- Significant interest from Forrester customers.
- A large installed base of DDoS customers.
